Katie McNichol M.S.; LMHC
Katie is a professional counselor and personal coach who works almost exclusively with teen girls and young women. An expert in the mental health of teen girls, she has worked with 100's of girls and 1000's of individual clinical hours over the years helping, guiding and teaching them how to create a life worth living.
As a teen advocate, she has recognized that too often teen girls are struggling to figure out who they are. Often during this critical time, the adults in their lives are overwhelmed with trying to help, so they give up.
The insights she has received from working with so many girls have taught her that teen girls need adults in their lives more then ever... and they want them involved. The disconnect often comes in how to do this effectively.
Her heart is to help parents thrive the teen years by providing valuable insight into the minds and lives and teen girls.
Katie has a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University and M.S. in Professional Counseling from Southeastern University. She is specifically trained in Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies.
She is currently a Doctoral student at Liberty University pursing an advanced degree in Community Care & Counseling: Marriage & Family Therapy.
She works with local schools educating parents and teaching girls about mental health. She is on the board and actively involved with www.topbuttons.org helping them develop their Wearing Confidence program serving 100's of local teen girls each year learn to value and express themselves through fashion.
